Be a Volunteer

Can you lend a helping hand?

Let’s face it, volunteers are our bread and butter. We simply can’t provide our critical services to vulnerable adults without your help. We depend on you to deliver meals (and smiles!) to people in our community who are simply trying to live at home independently for as long as they can. We like to think that we not only nourishing bodies, but souls too.

We have over 280 volunteers at Meals on Wheels and More. Because we serve over 32,000 meals to 350 clients each year, we always need more help. Be part of a winning team!

It has been a year and a half since I started my career at Meals on Wheels and More. Mostly I have been a driver on a couple of routes per week. The problem of being a driver is, of course, not being able to interact with some of our needy clients. Occasionally I have been a runner on some routes, and the satisfaction I get from seeing our clients who are extremely grateful for our services is most satisfying.

"Meals on Wheels and More is a great place to build your team building, communication and flexibility skills. It is also a place to meet people of different background and be involved in your community.  I felt Meals on Wheels and More was always a positive and a friendly place to volunteer and I believe this contributed to me being hired by the York Regional Police Force."
